If the Scotland games were all shown on BBC would you still go to the pub to watch them?

When Scotland's on the pubs are always mobbed, it's a fight trying to make your way to the bar, let alone finding somewhere to sit/stand/lean against. Quarter of an hour to get served (if yer lucky). Nae smoking now either and in Dundee ye canna take any alcohol outside, so ye run the risk o somecunt swiping yer drink and/or seat everytime ye want a smoke. So ye say to some random boy, 'here mate look after wir drinks for us eh'. And that's no good. At the end ye always end up coming oot smelling like a brewery cos o the amount of lager that's been spilled on you. And see trying to find a taxi when Scotland are on!! Nae chance, you're walking home son. Must admit though ye canna beat the atmosphere in pubs, especially games like the one against France, ye canna get that sitting it the house.

I'm starting to ramble, so if you had the choice would you rather go out or just stay in?

I prefer getting everybody tae mines to watch the game. Sausage rolls, eggy pieces and a big carryout ye canny beat it but you don't get in if you canny sing as karaoke is for afters (ma neighbours love me lol)

Nae bother falgee your invited if you can put up with me singing the scorpians wind of change lol

lol looks like it's gonna be an open house
Reply:Nope you can smoke away in ma hoose Report It

Reply:I think one of the good things about the smoking ban is that it is a lot easier to get to the bar at half time when loads of people head outside to get a cigarette.

I would still go to the pub for the atmosphere
Reply:I'd get the beers in %26amp; watch it at home.
Reply:We used to struggle with the pub, but now that my mate has a pool table, it's round to his, with small parcels of happiness, obligatory carry out, and enjoy the match.

After the match, THEN we go to the pub, to avoid all those issues you mention.

For games like Ukraine/ Italy/ France then it is down to the pub for all those reasons you mention.

I love lunchtime pints me.

How about a get together at Angies for the Italy game and win or draw we all sing Volare after, I am not drinking Lambrusco though, I have to draw the line somewhere
Reply:I think its the atmosphere that drives us into the pub,oh and the lager of course, lol.
Reply:i'd rather stay in. few bottles, wee smoke, good banter with friends and family. ye can keep the boozer for another time.

ps ange, sounds great. can i get an invite, i sing ac/dc on the karaoke.
Reply:Personally I would stay home because,I would be in the comfort of my own home.
Reply:I would rather take advantage of the lounge room dear boy.The one in the local hostelry, not the one in the des res.
Reply:I love the pub for Scotland matches as there is only one team getting supported and everyone is on the same side.

Apart from one time when a guy who usually goes to the games directed a 'Irish supporter' comment at me but he got told where to go or he'd end up missing the game, pissed me off, that some eejit thought he was 'more' Scottish than me because I support Celtic.

I love Scotland and not just when they are winning, I get sick and gutted when we lose. It is always the pub for me and throw the beer over my head as much as you like if it means we can qualify for the 2008 Euros.
Reply:I'm from Dumfries - and I would go to the pub everytime!! Atmosphere is class!
