Can anyone tell me where to find the Marriage Feast Of Canna in the Bible.?

I am getting married and would like to have this passage read. If anyone else has any suggestions for a reading by all means let me know. Thanks PS.. It does not necessarily have to be from the Bible..

Can anyone tell me where to find the Marriage Feast Of Canna in the Bible.?
John 2

Jesus Changes Water to Wine

1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."

4"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."

5His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[a]

7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

8Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

11This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

*** Congratulations! ***
Reply:Wedding feast is from John Chapter 2 verses 1-11.

We had the Apache Blessing read at our ceremony. You can find it here: http://www.tbwo.us/Ceremony/apache.htm

There is a longer version, which is what we used. I couldn't find it online so here it is:

Apache Blessing

Now you will feel no rain,

For each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,

For each of you will be warmth to the other.

Nor there will be no loneliness,

For each of you will be companion to the other.

Now you are two persons,

But there is only one life before you.

May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead,

And through all the years.

May happiness be your companion

And your days together be good and long upon the earth.

Treat yourselves and each other with respect,

And remind yourselves often of what brought you together.

Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness,

and kindness that your connection deserves.

When frustration, difficulties and fear assail your relationship,

As they threaten all relationships at one time or another,

Remember to focus on what is right between you,

Not only the part which seems wrong.

In this way, you can ride out the storms

When clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives—

Remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment,

The sun is still there.

And if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together,

It will be marked by abundance and delight.
Reply:Look in John 2. I think that is what you are looking to find.
Reply:We had this passage read, both in English, and in German, because it is traditional, and my favorite for weddings...

1 Corinthians 13

Love

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Do you cut off the left over buds of a canna after the flower falls off?

Did the Bombs flown from Prestwick kill the children in Canna? Who refueled them? Do you sleep at night?

Regardless of the details of our delivering bombs to Israel, every one of us taxpayers has been forced to pay for them ever since our congress started sending them 3 billion a year in the 70s.

Prior to that, Israel obtained funding by issuing "Defense Bonds" which were purchased by anyone supporting them. Then, thanks to the Israeli Lobby pressure, our Congress started forcing all of us to pay whether we wanted to or not. If Mina and I could have legally withheld that portion of our taxes, we would have.

Reply:You need to get out more, get a hobby.

Wars happen, right or wrong, it's a fact of life and death.
Reply:Just who did refuel those bombs.

I wanta know.
Reply:it doesn't make any difference where the bombs came from as far as I'm concerned all bombs are disgusting and so are the people who instigate it and you can bet your life that theyre in their beds losing no sleep they should be made to live where they cause suffering to countless innocents, and their families with them, then maybe they'd think twice before dropping bombs where ever it suits them .all lives are precious soldiers and civilians but they're nothing to these megalomaniacs
Reply:You must not.
Reply:dont know , dont know and yes i do sleep at night , im about 1 hour away from prestwick but i didnt send them , refuel them or kill anyone , wise up they didnt get sent from prestwick thicko that would be mr bush who is sending them
Reply:Oh **** off .... Who killed all those babies and the innocent children ... certainly was nt from any air strikes .... so shove your head back up your *** until you know what youre talking about !
Reply:I live in Kilmarnock about 8 - 10 miles from Prestwick Airport! Why do all the important stuff happen there anyway? Like the Leaders of the G8 arriving there? I don't know what you mean do you sleep at night bombs have been killing ppeople for decades the fact they are coming via the UK is not really a worry, but it's certainly unnecessary and annoying. Where are you from and what age are you you act like an old person or someone from Israel or that area.

Do you need to cut the old leaf of a canna lilly right down this time of year or leave as they are?

If you live in an area of hard frosts, dig them up,leave on all foliage, dry them out and store in frost free place till spring. In frost free zones you can leave then in. When the foliage has died cut back to 2'' from soil level

Do you need to cut the old leaf of a canna lilly right down this time of year or leave as they are?
Do you mean Kaffir lily? If so, you only need to remove the seed heads after they stop flowering and let the leaves die down.
Reply:leave +mulch to protect from weather.
Reply:Where are you? I'm in zone 5, and mine are dug up waiting for warm weather. Here they die in the cold.
Reply:In zone 7, we cut them back as soon as the cool weather kills the leaf, so as to keep a neat appearance. You can leave them if you like, but sometime before spring, the old growth needs to be removed to make way for the new,
Reply:depending on your zone but in zone 7 we cut them back to the ground and cover with mulch ( pine straw, bark etc. ) before the freezing temperatures come
Reply:We have a tremendous amount of Canna Lillies in our yard and have the best results when we cut them back in the winter. This allows the roots to continue to grow and the bulbs to divide and.... the plant is not trying to feed the stalks and leaves which will eventually get burned if they get a freeze. Don't worry given the right amount of water and fertilizer your Cannas will come back to great heights each year. Ours average 5 to 6 feet in height on average. Good luck with yours and take care. :%26gt;)
Reply:Hi, here in the UK we have to protect canna from the winters as the corms will rot if we leave them out in the ground because of the frosts. Most gardeners plant up the corms in large pots and over winter in a glass house or some where cool and dry. taking only the dead or damaged leaves away.

As I am not sure in which zone you are in I would say err on the side of care!.

Best to treat them like they need the protection of being under cover in winter. On the storing of them over winter keep them cool and the compost damp but no over watered . I try to keep them on their sides in their pots. In the spring I tease some of the top layer of compost away and replace with a mixture with some plant food added for slow release.

Hope some of info might be of help.
Reply:leave till spring then cut down they are a bulb

The front of my house faces east can i plant canna on the north side as a hedge? i live in Oklahoma?

I've found that most important is the soil. This past spring I moved mine to a more sunny location but really poor soil. After an entire summer of sun, they are like miniatures and never bloomed. Last year in a half sunny spot, but way better soil they were almost 6 feet tall! So as long as they get a fair amount of sun and good fertile soil you should have success. Good Luck!

South would be better....but anywhere it can receive full sun is satisfactory.
Reply:It will probably grow but not bloom as much as it would if planted in full sun. But then I have one that popped up in a crack in my driveway, I am sure it is not only in part shade there but it also rarely gets water.

Can any one tell me how to register a new canna? thanks paul h?

For some rather dry reading, try: http://www.plantpatent.com/articles.html

"The law also provides for the granting of a patent to anyone who has invented or discovered and asexually reproduced any distinct and new variety of plant, including cultivated sports, mutants, hybrids, and newly found seedlings, other than a tuber-propagated plant or a plant found in an uncultivated state.

..."All inquiries relating to plant patents and pending plant patent applications should be directed to the Patent and Trademark Office and not to the Department of Agriculture.

The Plant Variety Protection Act (Public Law 91577), approved December 24, 1970, provides for a system of protection for sexually reproduced varieties, for which protection was not previously provided, under the administration of a Plant Variety Protection Office within the Department of Agriculture. Requests for information regarding the protection of sexually reproduced varieties should be addressed to Commissioner, Plant Variety Protection Office, Agricultural Marketing Service, National Agricultural Library Bldg., Room 0, 10301 Baltimore Blvd., Beltsville, Md. 20705-2351."
